Fire Protection Publications (FPP) is the publishing house that creates textbooks for firefighters.
Known as “red books” to their users for their vibrant red covers, these textbooks teach firefighting standards. The standards are decided at conferences run by IFSTA (International Fire Service Training Association).
This job taught me the importance of consistent style. All textbooks needed to look like one designer created them, not a team of people.
Proceedings (IFSTA’s yearly conference report) and the FPP annual reports allowed my creativity to run wild.
