2021-2023 Senior Graphic Designer / Jacksonville Zoo & Gardens
Lead the design esthetic for all events and marketing. My coworkers are cuter than yours. (Google Kevin the gorilla … adorable!) The biggest events I lead design efforts on include: Spooktacular, ZooLights, summer gate drivers (Colossal Creatures in 2022, Dinosauria in 2023), zoo camps and ExZOOberation.

My job is to make sure all designs look like they came from one artist, uphold a high production value and fit within the brand of Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens. I keep an eye on budget and work with a myriad of printers as collateral is created.


2015-2021 Marketing Design Manager / Tulsa Zoo
Design all print and digital collateral for all events and marketing. From mid-2020—2021, I also ran Tulsa Zoo’s social media content.

Events at the zoo offer a variety of ages and guest experiences. They include: WALTZ on the Wild Side, ZooRun, Conservation on Tap, Hallowzooeen, Dreamnight, Snooz-a-pa-ZOO-za, Breakfast with the Bunny, Breakfast with Santa and exhibit openings. Event collateral includes copy, billboards, print and digital ads, extensive on-grounds themeing, invitations and programs.

Marketing for non zoo events: private events (like weddings, birthday parties), education’s camps and classes, gate drivers. Campaigns have included: Tulsa Zoo’s 90th year, Bigger. Better. (messaging to patrons construction at the zoo is a good thing.); Lost Kingdom exhibit opening; and Snow Leopard Days. Gate drivers often include a variety of assets including copy, billboards, digital ads, print ads, window clings, mall ads and on grounds signage.

Designed and outsourced printing for new series of flags and pole banners that incorporate color coding and words (2018). Made them better in 2020 by adding animal photos to all wayfinding pole banners. This allows for even quicker navigation than reading and helps our non-english speaking guests.

Design annual reports, rack cards, stationery and trading cards. Design menus for SSA’s Tulsa Zoo properties.

Filmed and edited Zoo School videos. Film and edit videos and photos for zoo social media.


2012-2015 Art Director / Ackerman McQueen
Art directed video and photo shoots for the Chickasaw Nation and Greater OKC Chamber of Commerce. Directed crew to achieve needed assets. Art directed and designed award-winning collateral for VeloCity magazine including articles, video brochure mailer, social media graphics and eblasts. Art directed and designed print collateral for Chickasaw Cultural Center including brochures, posters, advertisements, social media graphics and billboards. Designed look of website, booklet and billboard for 2014 OKC Boys and Girls Club fund-raising campaign.


2009-2012 Senior Graphic Designer / Fire Protection Publications
Designed IFSTA textbooks including “Fire and Emergency Services Instructor, Eighth Edition.” Edited photos, illustrated educational graphics and infographics. Took initiative to research e-textbooks and learn Adobe DPS. Designed Annual Reports and photo-heavy IFSTA conference yearbooks.


2008-2009 Graphic Designer / Stillwater Living Magazine
Balanced various projects including article layouts and invitation designs in a fast-paced, fluid environment. Met with clients from a range of industries to design ads.


2007-2009 Graphic Design Intern / Oklahoma State University Library
Designed and project managed The Campus of OAMC cover to cover. Designed all collateral for “You’re at the Library” campaign including ads and a-frames. Designed 2007 and 2008 Annual Reports
